Barbecue and honky tonk · Lower Broadway, Davidson County
Barbecue and live music on two levels across from Bridgestone Arena.
Nashville restaurateur Jeff Rippy opened Rippy's Bar and Grill in 2000 at 429 Broadway, on the corner of 5th.3 A longtime J.C. Bradford bond trader, he earned raves for his smoked barbecue and ribs at Nashville Kats tailgates before taking over the former Turf building.2
The 2001 menu included smoked chicken wings, smoked chicken, pulled pork, sliced pork loin and dry-rubbed ribs slow-cooked until the pork barely clings to the bone.2 Today the spot has 2 levels, 3 stages and private dining, across from Bridgestone Arena and Tootsie's Orchid Lounge.1
Three stages over two levels.1
