Planning a Smokies BBQ day
The three towns sit on one road. The National Park Service’s directions to the park’s Gatlinburg entrance run from I-40 Exit 407 south on TN-66 to Sevierville, then on US-441 through Sevierville and Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg. So a day can follow that order:
- Sevierville, closest to I-40: Tony Gore’s or Buddy’s on Winfield Dunn Parkway, or Bustin’ Butts on Newport Highway. Preachers Smokehouse is off the main road on Pittman Center Road.
- Pigeon Forge, next along the Parkway: Bennett’s or Calhoun’s on the Parkway, Boss Hogg’s on Wears Valley Road, or Hickory House if you’re spending the day at Dollywood.
- Gatlinburg, at the park entrance: Calhoun’s or Myron Mixon’s on the Parkway, Hungry Bear on East Parkway, Bennett’s on River Road, or the Smokehouse at Anakeesta.
