Andy Marshall bought Puckett's Grocery in Leiper's Fork in 1998 and turned it into a restaurant and music venue in 2002.4 Andy and Jan Marshall, the founders, are MTSU alumni, and Andy added an $8,000 smoker in the parking lot of the Leiper's Fork store.5
Puckett's Franklin opened in 2004 in a former grocery store that had become a bicycle shop.6 It was the brand's first full-service restaurant, and it hosts songwriter rounds.4 Across the brand, the menu runs to Southern classics like meat-and-three plates and slow-smoked BBQ.4
Visit Franklin calls it a five-tool player, with pulled pork smoked over cherry wood, baby back ribs, brisket, chicken and turkey. It placed third for barbecue in the 2026 Sizzle Awards.32
