Owner Joe O'Neal started in 2009 with a 4Runner, a pop-up tent, a smoker and a trailer, after culinary school and a stint as head smoker at Calhoun's in Gatlinburg.6 The East Main Street location was once Magness Drugstore.6

The menu lists hickory smoked brisket, baby back ribs and wings, along with BBQ nachos and fried green tomatoes.3, 6 Collins River started as a food truck in 2009 and opened on East Main Street in downtown McMinnville in 2012.1
