Why go
Eugene and Patrice Chandler opened Billie Rae's in April in East Knoxville and dedicated it to Eugene's late mother, Billie Rae Chandler.5 The restaurant took over the former Scrugg's BBQ location.5 The menu features ribs, brisket, wings and chili dogs, and the brisket is slow, hickory smoked.56
Sundays bring a Soul Food Sunday menu with smoked meatloaf and stuffed turkey legs.5 WBIR reported that the business was a mother's lifelong dream, made real by her son and his wife.3
